Techno was the eighth channel and the most recent of them, opened in 2023 alongside a show called Slagroom, fifteen years after Michael Reese started Hirschmilch from Hamburg on the last day of 2008 with two channels and no commercial interest in it. The station has added rooms only when the existing ones stopped covering the music, and by the early twenties the harder end had clearly outgrown everything else on the dial here. It remains free to listen to and carries no advertising.

The rotation runs peak-time and hard techno with the melodic strain kept in reach, the sound of the big European rooms rather than the basements. Expect driving kicks, long tool-like arrangements and the producers who have made the last few years of festival techno what it is. Dark Signal, a monthly set from UИDGRØUND, is the show now, and the channel does not soften after it ends.
