AspreN started NovaHot22 in Novara in 2025 as the first Italian web radio and magazine built for Afro-descendant and diaspora music, on the argument that the rappers, producers and vocalists born or raised in Italy with African and Afro-Caribbean roots were making some of the country's most vital records and getting the least room for them. The station came out of that scene rather than alongside it, and runs as a pair: a rotation on one side, a magazine of interviews, charts and event coverage on the other.

The rotation is drill, trap, afrobeats and R&B in Italian, much of it from artists still early in their careers, alongside a top twenty of Afro-descendant and diaspora releases that exists nowhere else. The LinkUp strand follows collaborations crossing in from outside, and the station shows up as media partner at Milan nights built around the same artists it plays.
