Alt-rock, RPM electronics and doom, far up the AM dial.
CJLO came out of a 1998 merger of two earlier Concordia University stations, CRSG and CFLI, and is now the university's only radio station, non-profit and run almost entirely by volunteers from a studio on the Loyola campus in Montreal's NDG, with directors elected at an annual general meeting. It streamed online every day from early 2003, and in 2008 it went on air at 1690 AM with 1,000 watts from a tower in Lachine, a signal the station says reaches as far as Ottawa and Burlington, Vermont.
More than eighty DJs fill the schedule, and rock and alternative shows make up the biggest share, next to electronic shows under the station's RPM banner, hip hop, metal, world music and a long list of talk. It also runs live sessions, interviews and its own magazine, Discordia, and readers of CULT MTL voted it Montreal's best radio station in 2022.
Montreal's other alternative.
