Psychedelia, garage rock and the deep Brazilian B-sides.
The Jardim Psicodélico came out of São Paulo's independent circuit rather than a studio: Eduardo Osmédio, bassist in two of the city's garage-psych bands, had already built the Cabeças em Transe, Som Nosso and Banana Pop festivals and a collective staging events in the city's peripheries before any of it reached a transmitter. The radio is one of three things the project runs, alongside a record label pressing the scene's garage bands to seven-inch and an open argument about underground culture.
Three weekly shows carry it. Osmédio's Quintas Elétricas Delirantes digs for B-sides and bands nobody has booked, Felipe Bigliazzi's A Jornada no Tapete Encantado works through the songbook of South and Central America, the Caribbean and Iberia, and Welisson Henriques' Saga Pop Arte takes one piece of pop culture apart per episode. Between them sit psychedelia, Brazilian rock and a goth block.
Nothing here got radio play.
