Lyon student radio with an alt-rock backbone.
Lyon's campus station has been on 90.7 since the early eighties, arguing for counter-culture when that still cost something, and the local press named it the city's first associative radio back in 2004. A volunteer team works out of the fifth arrondissement around three declared axes — music, culture and student news — the last of which got a strand of its own, La Campus Line, when the station rebuilt itself in the late nineties and helped set up the national campus federation.
The playlist runs rock and pop into neo-folk, electro, reggae, acid jazz, hip-hop and funk, drawn from independent scenes rather than distributors, which is why other programmers raid it for the names they have missed. Its own favourite proof is a receipt: the first copy in Lyon of the 1991 album that took grunge overground was sold after Brume put the record on air.
Thirty years of finding first.
