plusfm broadcasts independently from Paris without advertising of any kind, funded by donations and run at a scale where one person, David, writes up each new record by hand, label and all. Chill arrived as the quiet counterpart, described on the station's own site simply as the calm version of plusfm, meant for the hours when the main channel is too awake for the room it is playing in. Everything about it is the same operation and the same taste, only pointed at slower material.

It holds trip-hop, downtempo and ambient with a strong dream pop streak, leaning on records that keep a vocal somewhere in the mix rather than going fully instrumental. A fair number of tracks turn up on both channels, the ones calm enough to work either way, and the rest are chosen for this one alone. It stays at conversation level right through the day.
