De naald wordt afgestoft…
Techno, melodic and hard, from Antwerp servers.
The Antwerp arm of Radio FG keeps three streams running and this is the hardest of them. The brand is Parisian and old: Fréquence Gaie opened in 1981 as a community station of the city's gay scene, turned to house in the early nineties and became the frequency the French touch went out on, then dropped community status in 2001 to run commercially. Antwerp came later, as one of the adaptations the brand licensed abroad, and this channel took the part of the catalogue nobody dances to politely.
Peak-time techno is the spine, but it is not purist about it: bootlegs of big pop vocals turn up over hard kicks, and Chicago house records from the late eighties sit in the same rotation. Melodic cuts fill the middle stretches of the night, older material comes round again without any ceremony, and no presenter ever arrives to explain the sequence.
No daylight programming.
