Crate-dug originals, rare grooves, and deep cuts.
RadioHipHop.com went up in 2000, streaming in RealAudio because that was the only way to do it then, and has run through every format since: live DJs from 2003, round-the-clock programming from 2006, mixtapes from 2010, video from 2018. Through all of it The 54 Sideshow has been the flagship, on air from the beginning and hosted by Born Talent under the name the Avid Record Collector, which tells you most of what the show is — a man with the records, playing the records, since 2000.
More than a hundred and sixty episodes deep, it runs on hip hop originals, old school classics, rare grooves and the deep cuts that only surface out of somebody's crates. Episodes play back to back around the clock, so the channel is never anything but one collector's shelves, which the station itself files under old school, classics and plenty of funk.
Twenty-six years of digging.
