De naald wordt afgestoft…
House, techno and breaks, straight from the booth.
Radio Rudina began as a holiday project. In 2019 a group of friends rigged up a temporary station during their annual trip to the island of Hvar, off the Croatian coast, and simply kept broadcasting once they were home in Vienna. It has since run around the clock from a studio on Mahlerstrasse in the first district, producing more than 500 shows a year with local and visiting DJs — enough of an operation that it is registered twice over, as a company and as a non-profit arts association.
The schedule belongs to the residents, and their own listings say what that means: YPSY on techno and baile funk, .ORG on acid, breaks and UK garage, Max Pertl on house, garage and funk, AEND running house through hard groove into trance. The studio doubles as a meeting room for the Vienna scene, and the collective throws parties in the city and abroad.
Run on friendship, not formats.
