Alt-rock and current pop with Romanian upstarts in the mix.
Radio Guerrilla went on air in Bucharest on 29 November 2004, launched by the Academia Cațavencu press group, with programme director Răzvan Exarhu choosing the name and building the brand. It opened in the middle of a presidential runoff, and the first news bulletins were read on air by the two candidates themselves, Adrian Năstase at eleven and Traian Băsescu at noon. The station lost its FM licences in 2013 and kept going online, then won seven back from 2016 and returned to the dial in several cities.
Days run on hosts and conversation, from the Guerrilla de Dimineață breakfast crew to science talk with Sorin Badea and Bogdan Șerban's Avanpost, a nightly guide to the city's culture with live sets in the studio. In between, the playlist sits where alternative rock meets current pop, new Romanian bands climb the weekly Top 40, and at nine the rock singer Dan Amariei takes an hour of rock and indie.
