Spolveriamo la puntina…
Student radio from the Baltic, punk to K-pop after dark.
Its founding statement is a complaint: radio has sold itself out, it says, and become background noise for mainstream drivel, leaving Mecklenburg-Vorpommern a dead spot where a decent evening programme ought to be. The station has been making that argument since January 2005 — 98.1 MHz out of the Funkhaus through the evenings, run by seventy-odd volunteers who are mostly students at the university, with the state media authority and the Studierendenwerk covering what they cannot.
Montags Punk opens the week loud, Schizophrenie spends an hour in what it calls the engine room of techno playing nothing but Schranz, and HGWeezy does hip-hop. Then there is Schlagerexpress, and K-Pop-Express, and Tauschers Plattenkiste, which builds each episode around a single German word, Autolieder through to Zuckerlieder. Boddenpanorama covers the town itself.
Homework can wait till eleven.
