Aspeeetta...
Spolveriamo la puntina…
Downtempo, IDM and ambient from a Melbourne bar.
Hope St is a restaurant first: 35 Johnston St, Collingwood, inside the Collingwood Yards arts precinct, open Thursday to Sunday from three in the afternoon until late, natural wine, walk-ins welcome. The radio runs from behind its own counter while dinner service goes on around it, and has done since 2017 — the archive went past three thousand broadcasts some time ago. It goes out on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nations, and says so every time it says where it is.
Electronic runs underneath most of it — house and tech house, downtempo, dub, ambient, IDM and trip-hop — with R&B and soul turning up most weeks. The bookings are more serious than a wine bar needs: RP Boo, Carla dal Forno, Mabe Fratti, Jonnine, Rainbow Chan and dreamcastmoe have all played it, and recurring nights like Ecstatic Mob, WAXO and Makan Club carry the rest.
Dinner service, on air.
