Glasgow's music, arts and culture, shipped worldwide.
The name was a record series first: Andrew Thomson had been collecting Glasgow producers onto Clyde Built compilations for his label Huntleys + Palmers for years before he and Claudia Ioana Vasiliu turned the title into a station in 2020. They took a room about the size of a stall inside the Barras, the East End market that has outlived most of what was aimed at replacing it, and have run the place as a non-profit ever since, on Patreon subscriptions and a crowdfunder raised to keep the door open.
Weekends belong to the city's club nights and record shops, who bring their own hours with them, and they sit next to people who have never had a show before. The Sobhan Show turns the microphone on the traders working the market outside, and DJ Peanut takes a monthly slot for synths and percussion. Thousands of shows have gone out that way.
Built on the Clyde, sent out.
