Rock FM was already on the Athens dial in 1994, when its director heard Tasos Christidis DJing and handed him a show, and Christidis has stayed through everything since, compiling the station's Rock Energy and Rock FM Tunes CDs and throwing its Rock Therapy parties. The breakfast slot, Πρωινό Τρένο, pairs Tasos Karatzis, a pirate broadcaster from 1983 and a rockabilly guitarist who made it onto MTV in 1989, with Alexandros Vrachoritis, who came to radio by way of record labels and basketball.
The station promises all your favourite rock songs, and the day is built from the big rock hits, picked by people who have DJed the city's rock bars and written for music magazines. Vassilis Loukas, once a Billboard correspondent, holds the midday shift, and on Saturday nights Cavo Paradiso resident Giorgos Seiras gets an hour In The Mix. It belongs to the Attica Radios group.
