Thrash and sludge, from the first riffs to last week's.
Metal arrived at FIP as a summer experiment. L'été Metal went online on 17 June 2019 as a seasonal webradio, and a little over three years later, on 29 August 2022, FIP brought it back for good as FIP Metal, launched the same day as FIP Hip-Hop. The channel's own line promises an eclectic mix running from the first doom riffs to post-black metal and from French groove to German industrial, picked like everything else at FIP by the station's own programmers, with no presenters and no advertising.
Close to half of what plays came out in the 2020s, a lot of it from the sludge, stoner and doom end of things, French bands among them. Thrash and classic heavy metal hold the other flank with a good dose of hard rock alongside, and the nineties come back through grunge, alternative metal and a fair bit of nu metal. Black and death metal turn up too, though only now and then.
Headbanging, with good manners.
