Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Acid house to jungle, straight out of the pirate era.
RadioActive went out on 101.8 to 108.1 FM in 1990, a pirate run by a group of ravers who called themselves the 108 crew, and the name on the dial outlasted the aerials by decades. It came back online many years later in memory of Andy Williams — DJ Pure — who had helped start the first one, and the relaunch kept the old-skool manner deliberately: no playlist, no daypart, just whoever holds the slot and what they brought with them. The roster has grown past forty residents on both sides of the world.
Two alternating weeks of grid cover most of the day and evening. Slipmatt's World of Rave and Slip's House share a weekly slot, DJ Sible works old skool, Fusion Breaks the broken beats, Bad Grampa and Indesign Soldier jungle and drum & bass, Spanner and DJ Carlos back to back on techno. Acid house and hardcore sit beside tech, Chicago, funky and deep.
The transmitters went, they didn't.
