Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Sharp on music, talkative about everything else.
Three students from the École des Mines started it in 1998, on the view that Paris had no young alternative station of its own. The association took studios at 50 rue des Tournelles in the Marais in the early 2000s, in rooms the city lends it, and in 2004 the regulator handed it half of 93.9 FM — the other half belongs to Vivre FM, so the two share the day. A small paid staff and a few civic-service volunteers hold it together; the couple of hundred people who make the programmes do not get paid at all.
Novorama works through the week's new releases across electro, pop and rock, Campus Local Club hands the late slot to mixes, Metaclassique takes classical apart and Dans mon jazz does the same for jazz, while Sentiers sonores and Radia carry sound-art pieces. School groups get their own airtime too, as Les Petites Ondes every week and Les Grandes Ondes once a month.
Still sounds like a student.
