Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Jazz-leaning lo-fi beats for the working hours.
Mad Lo-Fi is the quiet channel in a group otherwise built for bars. Leo Herrera started Mad Radio in Medellin in 2017 around a DJ booth set into a bar counter, and the rooms that followed in Barcelona, Bogota, Miami and New York all programme for a floor. This one has rooms of its own: when Mad Records opened in the Astorga neighbourhood in November 2024 it came with a Lo-Fi Bar and, at the centre of the building, a small Lo-Fi Music Room built for live sets and vinyl played at conversation volume.
Brushed drums, upright bass, tape hiss and a piano somewhere back in the mix set the register, and almost none of it carries a vocal or a drop. It leans further toward jazz than most streams of its kind, which is most of what keeps it out of the study-beats middle ground. Nothing on it is built to make anyone dance, which in a group of six dancefloor channels is the point.
Furniture music, well chosen.
