Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
UK boom bap, breaks, and Saturday night soul.
Itch went out on 105.15 FM as a London hip-hop station in the early 2000s, back when the UK end of the music had almost nowhere else to sit on the dial, and it has carried the same remit through every move since. The most recent came in October 2024, when the operation was incorporated as a community interest company at an address in Kentish Town. Alongside the broadcasting it trains fifteen to twenty-five year-olds across Camden in production, presenting and podcasting, with Youth Music and the Roundhouse behind it.
The week is built from named shows: DJ Paydro's Breaks & Soul, DJ Philly's Trackside Burners on strictly boom bap, DJ Howsky on breakbeat, DJ Sammy Jay and Daron on rap, and Kat Pearson's Blues & Blessings out on a Sunday afternoon. Between them the clock is catch-up, last week's episodes going round again under a jingle that says only dedicated to hip hop.
Hip-hop, culture included.
