INDIE X FM broadcasts from the Pacific shore in Los Angeles, run by people who started out at KROQ in the 1980s, back when that station was breaking records rather than repeating them. That history is the whole argument for the place: it exists because commercial radio and most online indie stations cycle the same songs and ignore everything new, so this one sets out to play both the classics and the artists signed to small labels or to no label at all. It is free and carries no advertising.

Weeknights and weekends belong to guest hosts scattered across two continents: Mark broadcasts Postcards From The Underground out of Cumbernauld in Scotland, Tim Pyles brings the FTP New Music Show from San Diego, Drew Kenyon of WLIR fame makes his Modern Rock MixTape on Long Island, Kenny Arena digs through punk and post-punk history, and Jon Hodgson sends a dance show from Cardiff.
