Free radio for one neighbourhood and the world.
Patapoe came out of Amsterdam's squatted free-radio movement, the one De Vrije Keyser started from an occupied building in 1979 and Radio 100 carried on from the mid-eighties. It began life as a punk station called Radio Dood before becoming the third of the city's platforms for free radio makers, and it runs on the same terms: no commercial interest at all, and no gatekeeper deciding who gets an hour on air. Broadcasts stay up for a fortnight and then go to the Internet Archive.
Formula Indie fills the early hours every day of the week. Feddo's psychedelic show runs long off the back of Alchemy's space-rock archive, late action plays garage, freakbeat and punk from wherever it can find them, and club pata gives the dancefloor a night of its own. OCCII concert recordings arrive without warning, and anyone who wants to broadcast is handed the instructions.
