Volunteer-run Brussels radio with no format to break.
Radio Campus has broadcast from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles since 1980, out of the campus it was born on, at 92.1 FM and on DAB+ across the city. Roughly fifty programmes are made by more than 150 presenters, technicians and collaborators, nearly all of them unpaid volunteers, and the station sets out its three values plainly: freedom of expression, an immoderate attachment to the social fabric of Brussels, and a boundless love of musical and cultural diversity.
A good deal of the schedule is not music at all but radio made as a form in itself — fiction, sound documentaries, radio essays, audio experiments. Around that sit student news, science magazines, community programmes for the city's many diasporas, and the late-night stretches where the sound art lives. Nothing on the grid has a format to answer to.
Brussels' unruliest faculty.
