Sound art and ambient from the Creative Commons, only.
Seattle arts nonprofit REALMOREREAL has run Radio Brennpunkt since 2019 on a single constraint: nothing airs that is not public domain, Creative Commons, or cleared directly by whoever made it. That rules out most of recorded music and leaves netlabels, self-releasers and unsolicited submissions, every one of which gets played at least once. Labels in Seattle, Berlin, Montreal and Italy have since granted non-exclusive rights to their catalogues, and the name — German for focal point — says what the constraint is for.
The sound is experimental ambient and sound art: drone, plunderphonics, nu-new age and found-sound mania, much of it hauled back from CAMPBIENT, the annual residency where artists camp in a state park and record 44 minutes of work in 44 hours. Phantasmauralia comes from Flood Province, and Wonderchill's Avant Garden is compiled each month from listener feedback.
