Brand-new French indie rock, post-punk and punk.
Nouvelle Vague Radio is one person's project, run from Beauvais in the Oise by someone with more than thirty-five years in French community radio and fifteen of podcasting behind them. It is neither a company nor an association, and it exists to get French musicians heard when commercial radio leaves them out. Beyond the music it carries a weekly interview podcast, in which Laurent Delfau talks to two French-speaking artists, and follows the festival circuit across the north of France.
The music runs unattended around the clock, drawn mostly from monthly selections of new releases, so most of what plays came out in the last few months. Guitars lead, indie and alternative rock with post-punk and punk edges and some folk rock, sung in French or English, and it goes looking for Paris post-punk, south-western stoner riffs, garage rock and cold-wave.
Sounds like the back room of a bar.
