Hooold...
Dusting off the needle…
London residents on deep house and minimal, all week.
Bloop runs out of a family-operated studio at 42 Theobalds Road in Holborn, and has been putting London DJs on air from there since at least early 2016, when A Guy Called Gerald came in for a live showcase. Channel 1 is the flagship and the only one with the lights on — everything else on the station either comes from abroad or plays unattended. Residents hold monthly slots rather than weekly ones, which keeps the roster long, the rotation slow and the names different most weeks.
Inca Jones brings A Sunset Shakedown, David Agrella has Agrellomatica, Stefan Rose runs Airtime, and AJ Couque keeps a Deep House Diary; After Work Drinks and 241 Sessions fill out the rest. The palette is deep house and minimal with techno, garage and breaks at the edges, plus the occasional outside broadcast from a club or a Bloop night at Fabric.
Local heads, local hours.
