Soul, funk, italo, and house behind a single play button.
Prose is the radio arm of a record collection. Anatole Royer — Anat' to anyone who has booked him — spent years digging for rare vinyl and writing up the finds on Le Tournedisque, the blog and collective he started, then put the station on air in 2018 so that the same records could run continuously instead of arriving one post at a time. He works as an illustrator and art director, runs a Paris design studio called Parade, picks everything the station plays and DJs those same records out in clubs.
Almost all of it comes off vinyl. Daylight hours run soul, funk, italo and disco out of French diggers' crates; after dark the selection turns toward electro, deep cuts and house, with African records threaded through both. Live shows punctuate the rotation, no advertising interrupts it, and the mood shifts with the hour rather than with a presenter.
A record shop that plays itself.
