Footwork, dubstep and disco with pirate-radio manners.
Yeti Out put a radio station in the basement of Landmark, the luxury mall in Central, and opened it in December 2020 with a question: if you dropped a needle in capitalism, what would it sound like? The studio sat inside a 6,000-square-foot retail floor of rotating streetwear labels, playing through speakers Devon Turnbull built by hand. Hong Kong's clubs were shut when it launched, which is why the mantra became STILL LIVE. The mall reclaimed the space in July 2024; the station kept going without it.
Residents get a lane rather than a format: KATAGYAL's Can I Spin 4 U? on UK funky, baile funk and grime, S2 on breaks and jungle, Dark Metaz on techno, Dry Desert Heat on footwork, BrukVibesMatter on broken beat, and Null X running breakcore into hardstyle. Guest hours have gone to Tzusing, Koreless, Futura, Angelo Baque, and Andrew Bull of the old Canton Disco.
The luxury district's blind spot.
