Ambient electronica for switching the day off.
Dinamo began as Istanbul's 103.8 FM in November 2003 and moved entirely online a decade later, on the reasoning that a single frequency could not carry the range it wanted to play. The answer was channels built for moods rather than one stream trying to serve every hour of the day, and nine now run in parallel, each with somebody choosing the records by hand instead of an algorithm filling the gaps. Sleep was among the later additions, and the least crowded of them.
Sleep is the quietest of the nine: slow, largely beatless ambient electronica picked for the end of the day rather than the middle of it. Long pads and small textures from the likes of Mick Chillage, Triola and Best Available Technology, very little that demands attention, and almost nothing that resolves in a way you would notice. It is built for reading, or for sleeping.
Best used half asleep.
