When Split's Radio KL was shut down after sixteen years, its music and specialist desks refused to let the schedule go with it: journalists, teachers, designers and architects registered the KLFM association in August 2012 and had a stream running by the start of 2013, out of the Kocka club in the Dom mladih youth centre. The studio moved into the same centre's media wing in 2023, and a volunteer crew fills a round-the-clock grid of mixtapes and hosted shows, with a radio school for newcomers running since 2017.

Mondays run on the Kunst mixtape and Tuesdays on Liebe, with Hitovi napadaju fighting over the midday selection every weekday. Q.R.T. handles shoegaze, dream pop and post-rock, Pila naopako carried metal for more than two decades, Jazz Something takes the small hours, Eteria Waves brings in electronic producers, and Svjetloton closes Sunday on film music.
