Czech and classic rock, 60s to now, eight thousand deep.
Petr Kůsa — Kůsofka to everyone — has been presenting Rock Music CZ since May 1993, and has played something like 1,700 gigs of his own behind the drums with Korpus, Koma, Black Rain and half a dozen others. He built the Fajn Rock Music project around that show in 1997 to get Czech songwriting bands heard, put the radio on air on New Year's Day 2008, and launched the country's first televised rock chart that August. It still runs monthly, and he still picks every record himself.
His own genre list for the station runs rock, metal, blues, grunge, punk, southern, art rock, progressive, indie and pop-rock, and the library is deep enough that the obvious hits keep their distance. Nothing interrupts it — no ad breaks at all. The weekly guest slot reads Totální nasazení, Kabát, Tanja, Bratrstvo Luny: punk to gothic rock, Slaný to Ostrava.
One rocker's life's work, on shuffle.
