Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Underground indie, trip-hop, and drum and bass.
Radijacija is the Serbian word for radiation, and the outfit behind it is registered in Luxembourg as an A.S.B.L. — a non-profit association rather than a business, which is most of what it will tell you about itself. The remit it does state is a negative one: alternative, indie and underground records that commercial radio has no room for, chosen by hand and topped up by listener suggestions. Its own tagline, and the nearest thing to a manifesto on the site, is the phrase Legal guerilla.
The rotation is the argument. Bauhaus, Wire and the Velvet Underground share a playlist with Sports Team and Sea Girls, while Minimal Compact and Nina Persson's A Camp turn up in the places where most stations would reach for the obvious record instead. Ezra Collective and Groove Armada cover the other flank, and a remix is as likely to air as an original.
Homesick with good taste.
