Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Aeolian island radio, chill out through deep house.
The name goes back to Italy's free-radio boom, when a Radio Eolie started up in a house at Pianoconte on Lipari, not long after Tele Eolie had run some of the first cable television experiments anywhere in the country. That one carried a news bulletin as well as records. The name has since passed to a different thing altogether, a no-profit web radio built by Ezio Giunta and broadcast out of Studio 7 in Lipari town, paid for by donations and a SIAE licence rather than by anyone buying airtime.
The day is laid out as zones that follow the islands' own rhythm rather than a playlist. Mornings run chill out, ambient and acoustic electronic, the middle of the day turns clubbier, and Monica Deep takes the long afternoon with deep house, which is the beach and boat-return stretch. Sunset Red Horizon hands the evening over to balearic and cinematic downtempo, and only after that does it go properly to house.
Made in Lipari, for the view.
