Mühlviertel free radio: nostalgia rock, schlager, and Czech.
Independent, ad-free and regional, in that order, from an old-town address in Freistadt since March 2005. After twenty years on air the station put up two more transmitters — one of them at Vorderweißenbach — and pushed its signal out of the Mühlviertel into the districts of Perg and Urfahr-Umgebung. Forty-eight school students have done a month's internship there, and AUSgestrahlt has spent years tracking the hunt for a Czech nuclear repository over the border. The music desk's brief is international and local, kept off the mainstream.
Nostalgierock is on its five hundred and thirty-second edition and Schlag auf Schlag(er) its three hundred and sixteenth. Rainer Sigl spends The Trip walking from French hip-hop through nu-reggae into club sounds; Spirit Rebel deals in ragga jungle, drum and bass and dancehall; Börnie's Groove Time puts an Oberkrainer band next to Georg Danzer without blinking.
Eight to eighty, all on air.
